After a year of misery and symptoms that even the vet was unable to diagnose, Dottie, a five-year-old Liver Spotted Dalmatian, is finally living the life of a happy, healthy dog again.
Dottie's owner was alarmed when she discovered "lumps the size of Maltesers" all over her dog's body. Matters were not improved when the vet explained that Dottie was obviously suffering from an allergic reaction to something, but was unable to be more specific about the cause - or causes. "Dottie's condition gradually became much worse," says her owner. "She was admitted to the Veterinary Hospital on numerous occasions with fluid on her lungs and internal bleeding." Strong steroids were prescribed, but still Dottie continued to be unwell.
Eventually, when the symptoms persisted and she was showing no real sign of recovery, the vet performed an allergy test, which clearly showed that the trigger for Dottie's illness was the common house dust mite, something routinely found in all homes. "The vet said she had never seen such a severe allergic reaction to house dust mites," says Dottie's owner. But unluckily for Dottie, there seemed to be no lasting cure for her ailment.
Then, by chance, her owner came across a magazine article about HealthGuard's Total Hygiene DM1 spray. The spray has been designed to remove existing house dust mites and harmful bacteria, providing instant relief from existing allergies and preventing new ones from occurring. It is environmentally-friendly, hygienic and suitable for use on soft furnishings, carpets and curtains. Just one application is all that is required to safeguard your home and protect your pet for up to six months.
Now, seven months after her owner's first application of DM1, Dottie appears to have made a complete recovery. Naturally, her owner is delighted "The result from spraying DM1 was almost instant," she says. "I sprayed the dog's bed and my soft furnishings as directed and the next day, I could see the difference in Dottie. It was incredible!"
No one wants to watch a much-loved pet in constant pain or discomfort. There is also the added burden of the vet's bills - and the distress caused by frequent visits to the surgery. Unfortunately, allergic reactions are increasing dramatically and stories like Dottie's are becoming all too familiar.
"I have a much happier dog now and I'm no longer spending large amounts of money to get her treated." Says Dottie's owner, who estimates that her dogs illness cost her as much as £1,500 in vet's fees alone
